My teaching interests include the politics of memory and cultural heritage; comparative approaches to fascism, totalitarianism and nationalism; soccer and globalization; the World Wars and their legacies; the cultural, social and intellectual history of modern Italy and Europe; and reflexive approaches to historiography and research.
In recent years, I have been recognized by outstanding teacher awards from the West Virginia University Foundation and WVU's Eberly College of Arts and Sciences, as well as the Caperton Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Writing. I was also a Faculty Fellow of the WVU Honors College.
